  NATURE EXPLORATION ROOM

The Nature Exploration Room gives fresh meaning to the term "hands-on science." Children can pretend to be a "worker ant" as they climb through ant trails or a paleontologist as they search for fossils. Interactive displays engage the young scientist as they spend quality time discovering our natural history.

Philbert's Pond is a living display that allows close-up observation of three living habitats - terra firma, aquatic and wetland. Some of the more common animals that inhabit this community called Philbert's Pond include Philbert the three-toed box turtle, two small map turtles, various species of fish, a tiger salamander, and mudpuppies.
