LIVE ANIMALS

Undoubtedly one of the most popular features at MMNH is the live animal collection. Our wide variety of reptiles, arthropods, fish, and amphibians are not only fascinating to watch, but also serve as partners in the education process during programs.

Turtles: Sulcata tortoise, false map turtle, box turtle

Snakes: red tail boa constrictor, corn snake, ball python

Lizards: bearded dragon, leopard gecko, New Caledonian crested gecko, Chinese water dragon, Uromastyx, legless (glass) lizard,green iguana

Amphibians: Cuban tree frog, common tree frog, Japanese fire bellied newt, California newt

Fish: koi, goldfish, plecostomus

Arthropods: Chilean rose-hair tarantula, Vietnamese walking sticks, emperor scorpion, rock scorpion, tailless whip scorpion
