Q: What is the Midwest Museum of Natural History?
A: MMNH is a natural history museum that works to inspire interest about the natural world, including biology, geology, and anthropology. Our main gallery has over 100 mounted animals from around the world, and we are the home to over 30 live animals. Hands-on, active, engaging programming and exhibits are our specialty!

Q: Where is the Museum?
A: We are located in downtown Sycamore, across from the movie theater on State Street. Our address is 425 W. State Street, Sycamore, IL 60178

Q: What is there to do at the Museum?
A: The Museum is a great place to spend an afternoon observing animals from around the world and participating in fun programs. Check out our calendar for information about upcoming events!

Q: How much is admission?
A: $8/adults, $5/children & seniors

Q: When are you open?
A: Tuesday-Saturday: 10-5, and special holidays.

Q: Where does the Museum get its live animals?
A: Our live animals are rescues from around the Chicagoland area.

Q: Will the Museum adopt our pet?
A: Please call 815-895-9777 to inquire about relinquishing your animal.

Q: Is there free parking?
A: YES! There are several public parking lots directly across the street from the museum.

Q: How much is a family membership?
A: Family memberships are a great way to experience the museum. They cost $65, and include free admission for two adults and their children, and discounts on events, rentals, and gift shop purchases. More Info.

Q: Can I take pictures?
A: Yes! We ask that you refrain from using flash. If you share your photos on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, please tag them with #MMNH.

Q: Can I bring my own lunch?
A: Yes, we have a lunch area in the Oasis Room. However, there may be dates that the Oasis Room is booked for events, so please call before your visit to make sure you'll have access to a table for lunch.

Q: Is there a vending machine?
A: No, we do not have any food for sale at our museum. However, we are happy to point you in the direction of some of the best food in town if you need suggestions!
